Job Description
We have a project to study the role of human natural killer cells in tuberculosis. Not everyone who is infected with mTB develops active disease; the postdoctoral researcher will analyze genetic data from the HLA, KIR and other immune system genes from a cohort of 5000 individuals from Southern Africa; they will identify alleles or other genetic variants associated with progression to active TB; they will apply the findings to inform functional studies of human NK cells, and potentially T cells, in the context of TB. Experience in cellular immunology and in vitro cloning are essential, and experience in genetics desired
